Who are the NICEIC?

The National Inspection Council for Electrical Installation Contracting (NICEIC) is the industry's independent voluntary body. They offer leading certification services, Building Regulations schemes and products to electrical contractors as well as a variety of other trades within the construction industry. Over 25,000 contractors are registered with them.

The NICEIC registration not only proves to customers and specifiers that you have the skills and professionalism, but also gives you peace of mind that our products and services are of the highest quality.

Insurance Backed Warranty

Work by contractors who are registered with the NICEIC Domestic Installer Scheme and are notifiable to Building Control falls under the NICEIC Insurance Backed Warranty. This warranty is intended to protect consumers should any work be found not to be compliant with the Building Regulations due to a contractor that is no longer in business to undertake the necessary remedial work. On completion of the work, be sure to ask for a Part P certificate. This will list the details of the IBW.

A financial limit of £25,000 is placed on the remedial work per installation each year, and the warranty is valid for six years from the date when the original work was completed.
